Revamp

The blog is currently undergoing a major revamp, please continue to view it as changes will be made in the very near future. Please be patient and I’ll have some more lovely photographs posted on here soon.

June’s adventures

So I thought as I haven’t posted in a fair while due to having a job I thought I’d make little update posts. A taster of what’s to come and what my plans in photography will be in the near future. Here, are a select few photographs from the trip I took out to the Alps. Futher pictures can be found here

The other 2 photographs are from a short bouldering trip with an old friend from school who is coming to study outdoor leadership at the University of Cumbria. We went out on perhaps one of the most rainy days of the summer so far but we were blessed with dry (ish) rock.

further pictures can be found here

So an insight as to what July holds, well I’ll post those up tomorrow and as for the rest of the summer. I’m hoping to get out climbing a bit more grit, biking with new found friends and kayaking the Washburn. Watch this space

The Nissan Downhill Mountain Biking World Championship

Wow that is a long title and I’d like to apologise for the lateness of this post. This happened in May, I went up with my Brother and some of his friends. The weekend was stunning, the only thing that showed it in a negative light was the damn midges. The winner of the mens downhill competition was Greg Minaar, he slapped Sam Hill’s time in the face. The Womens competition was dominated by the French.

A Walk in the Park

Recently I’ve noticed my photography starting to become a bit sloppy. To counteract this, I’m taking my camera everywhere in a bid to practise my skills that I’ve learnt at University. I hope to post at least 3 times a week on this blog so I’ve got my work cut out for me. As well as writing articles, managing my other blog and working at the leisure centre I’m keen to be getting out and snapping away happily.

For all those that didn’t make it.

So, I’ve had an eventful month photographing my guts out.  There’s been some good times and some bad times as I’m sure you can appreciate.  This post is basically to thank everyone for helping me out and explain why this has been such a cool experience.

Firstly to Martin, my lecturer.  He’s pretty blunt and to the point but rightly so.  Everything he says is right no matter how picky.  It can be really infuriating sometimes but it certainly makes you a lot stronger.  Also he provides for some comedy photo opportunities like these:

biking near cockermouth

My friends and I went across to this forest.  The lighting was far from ideal and made it difficult to photograph fast moving bikes… Definately a learning experience.

panoramic struggle

Well, we have an assignment which is based on panoramics.  It’s hard and I mean really hard.  I am trying but its hard to feel inspired or anything when you know 9 times out of 10 it’s going to go wrong….

ah well gona keep practising and this is the first of my efforts.

Scrap

These photos were taken on an adventure to Little Salkeld. We stopped off at a scrap yard where I found these great sort of patterns and I found them extremely interesting.

I’ll be adding more as the week goes on.

British summer

Taken whilst on holiday near Bournemouth. Typical stormy British weather. Lovely

Tees Barrage

Ali and I were invited on a kayaking trip to Tees Barrage white water course.  This provided us with an excellent opportunity to kick start our adventure and media course with some really cool photographs of our friends show boating to us.
